Betcha Never Thought You’d Be This Happy To Be …
From the day after September 11th, 2001 my Arab friends at my cab garage caught unrelenting shit from their passengers – ultimately they all had to stop driving cabs for months and most of them left the country – some of them I’ve never seen again.
Meanwhile none of my African Muslim buddies had a single problem. It was beyond the comprehension of their passengers that these coal black giants were Muslim too. Their skin color protected them.
My running gag with them for the entire post-September 11th nightmare was, “I betcha never thought you’d be this happy to be black!”
For years I have listened to morons suggest that young Arab men be singled out for all additional security scrutiny – with the unsaid notion of leaving the rest of us alone.
For this reason Al Qaeda has actively recruited white people and now apparently black people. The enemy is not stupid. If need be they’ll recruit old people, women, Chinese, Inuit, … they only need one at a time.

The enemy is not stupid, as you report; our administration is stupid, as their anti-terrorism actions prove. Terrorism is not a political agenda problem; it’s a protect America problem.
