Profiling The Critics Of Profiling
What does it say about the critics of profiling potential terrorists that the instant the subject is raised so many of them instantly bring up Islam? Where are their minds at?
When I was a cab driver one of my running gags was to tell Arabs that of course they fit the profile of a terrorist. In response to their startled looks I’d add,
“But so do I … I fit Timothy McVeigh’s!”
And a good laugh would be had by all.
There are certainly Islamic Terrorists but to think that there are only ‘Islamic’ Terrorists is to replace thinking with knee jerk bias.
When Governor Palin raised the issue of profiling and/or the negligent lack thereof regarding Major Nidal Hasan on her book tour earlier this week she predicted that it would probably start a media firestorm.
The fact that it didn’t seem to have is either indicative of a mature thoughtful nation thinking before reacting or a nation that is really terrified of its current president.
