Trivial Pursuit

Contrary to nonsense that I have heard spewed out by idiot blowhards in the media over the weekend – and I have not bothered to listen to much …

Yes other nations have tried Al Qaeda suspects in their criminal courts BUT these suspects are usually citizens of their respective countries AND in the case of a nation like England – it has decades of trying members of the Al Qaeda linked Irish Republican Army and has developed a criminal justice system designed to protect state intelligence secrets during trials and still get convictions. In the case of countries like Indonesia I don’t think state secrets come out during trials – period.

The first Al Qaeda attack on America soil was the murder of Meir Kahane shot to death by El Sayyid Nosair in front of a roomful of witnesses during the opening week festivities of the Marriot Eastside Hotel in Manhattan on November 5, 1990. In New York City criminal court Nossair was found NOT GUILTY OF MURDER even though he was convicted of illegal gun possession for being caught fleeing the hotel with the murder weapon!

Trying Khalid Sheik Mohammed and other Al Qaeda members in criminal court anywhere trivializes the fact that they are soldiers in a global army that declared war on the United States in August of 1998 and is prosecuting a war on the United States of America now.

So no Dylan Ratigan – it’s not simply a matter of New York City being pussy - you freak.

El Sayyid Nossair in Wikipedia.

Jeff Bliss of Bloomberg News has also pointed out that if waterboarded suspects can be tried in criminal court for these trials CAN ALL CRIMINAL SUSPECTS BE WATERBOARDED AND STILL BE TRIED IN CRIMINAL COURT?

  2. Dave Hamilton Says:

Just when you think the regime of obama cannot make anymore stupid decisions, they pull this one out of the hat.

  3. Herrick Says:

This IS trivial nonsense. Obama can’t have a military trial at Gitmo because this was what Bush would have done; and Obama doesn’t want to admit that Bush made the RIGHT decision.
